Hello and welcome! My name is Wendy Monroe, and I am passionate about working with children and helping them grow and learn in a nurturing environment. I graduated on the Dean's List from Southern Illinois University Edwardsville (SIUE) with a Bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education, with an emphasis in Art, and hold an Illinois teaching certificate. During my college years, I had the honor of raising three amazing children of my own, which only deepened my love and understanding of child development.
Since graduating, I’ve had the pleasure of teaching in a variety of settings. I’ve worked as a substitute teacher in local schools, teaching grades K-8, with long-term positions in Language Arts, Physical Education, and Pre-K. Additionally, I’ve taught in daycare centers and with the Pre-K For All program. Most recently, I’ve had the joy of being an in-home teacher for two wonderful families, and I’ve since opened my own in-home Pre-K program in Millstadt, Illinois.
Every day, I feel incredibly fortunate to be part of the educational journey for children, helping them develop a lifelong love of learning. I am patient, playful, and kind, and I truly cherish the smiles and laughter that children bring into my life. I look forward to working with you and your child, and I can’t wait to help them grow in a warm, loving, and engaging environment.
